VERT - The Flight Simulator for radiation therapy

Leeds Teaching Hospital

Due to COVID-19 affecting clinical placements across the country, Leeds Teaching Hospital has developed remote access resources to provide distanced training to their 4th year medical students. An introduction to radiotherapy using VERT has been created to teach the wider MDT outside of radiotherapy about the practice. This is an interesting adaptation of using VERT for those who have interest in radiotherapy, such as medical students who wish to undertake a career specialising in oncology, and it demonstrates how virtual simulation can be used effectively when there is a lack of clinical placements available.
